New Delhi/Varanasi: In fond memory of the legendary Hindustani classical music maestro and Padma Bhushan awardee, Late Pandit Rajan Mishra, a special two-day musical tribute titled “A Musical Evening in Memory of Pandit Rajan Mishra” is being organized in both Varanasi, widely regarded as the cultural capital of music, and the national capital, New Delhi. These events, organized by Pandit Ritesh Mishra, President of RASIPA, are dedicated to celebrating his rich legacy and the glorious tradition of the Banaras Gharana.
Sharing details, his son, Pandit Ritesh Mishra, informed that the first program will be held on April 24, 2026, at the prestigious Stein Auditorium, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road,
New Delhi, starting at 6:30 PM. Renowned artists from across the country will offer their heartfelt tributes through musical
performances. The prominent artists include Pandit Bhola Nath Mishra (vocal), Adnan Khan (sitar), Juheb Ahmed Khan (tabla), Pandit Bharat Bhushan Goswami (sarangi), Jai Shankar Mishra (tabla), and Zakir Dholpuri (harmonium). The event will be hosted by Sushri Radhika Mishra and coordinated by Ritbhavi Productions.
The second event will take place on April 25, 2026, at the Sunbeam Lahartara campus in Varanasi, also starting at 6:30 PM. On this occasion, renowned vocalist Divya Sharma and eminent Banaras Gharana singer Pandit Anup Mishra will perform, while Pandit Narendra Mishra will present a captivating sitar recital. Tabla accompaniment will be provided by Shrikant Mishra and Pandit Rajesh Mishra, with Pandit Pankaj Mishra on
harmonium. The program will be hosted by Sh. Amit Mishra.
The Varanasi event is being jointly organized by Rasipa (Rajan-Sajan Mishra Institute of Performing Arts), Sunbeam Group of Educational Institutions, and Kala Prakash.
